The Clan last gathered in Scotland in June 2004. Mathesons from all over the world met to celebrate their kinship in Edinburgh, Ardross and Lochalsh. Among the many events were a clan dinner in Edinburgh on 22 June, a reception at Ardross Castle, visits to the sites of the battles of Culloden Moor and Glenshiel, a Clan Parliament and visits to the Matheson Fort and Bealach Mhor.
